The California College of Ayurvedai (CCA) offers the most comprehensive curriculum in the field of Ayurvedic Medicine in the United States. The first established, and longest-running, state-approved Ayurvedic educational program in California, CCA is the premier educator for individuals seeking to make a difference in the world through a career restoring the natural balance of body, mind and spirit with the wisdom of Ayurveda.
Quality education is the foundation of preparation. Our founder, Dr. Marc Halpern, is a Western pioneer of Ayurvedic Medicine. He is also a Founding Director of the National Ayurvedic Medical Association and the California Association of Ayurvedic Medicine.
CCA brings the healing wisdom of Ayurveda to the West. In addition to providing students with training in the fundamental principles and practices of Ayurveda, our students study disease management and receive the clinical training necessary to become successful in practice. In order to achieve these goals, our training program is offered in three levels at several locations – plus live internet and distance learning in the convenience of your own home. When you are ready to make Ayurveda your life’s work, CCA can help you turn your Ayurvedic passion into a successful profession.
Students who complete the A.H.E. program (which is Level One of CCA's training program) will receive a certificate of completion, normally at the AHP program graduation ceremony. This certificate is a joint certificate of completion from both the California College of Ayurveda and the American Institute of Vedic Studies. The certificate is signed by Dr. David Frawley and Dr. Marc Halpern. This program is for the student wishing to integrate their training in Ayurveda with an existing health care degree or to receive the knowledge for personal growth and/or self-healing. Graduates with no previous health care training may conduct community ayurvedic educational workshops and seminars. This training can be combined with an Ayurvedic Body Therapy certification, allowing level-one graduates to also perform Ayurvedic massage and spa therapies.
The tuition for the A.H.E. program is $4100. Registration fee, application processing fee and textbook purchases are additional.
Students who have completed this program are encouraged to continue as an Ayurvedic Health Practitioner.
The majority of our weekend programs and classes at the Grass Valley location are available for participation by live internet. This format enables students to be fully participating members of the class – to see and be seen by the instructor, to ask questions, to view class materials, to participate in class discussions – all in real time. This format is ideal for students who live at a distance but who still want to be a part of the classroom community. [Frequently Asked Questions]

Distance Learning Program The California College of Ayurveda Distance Learning Program is open to students world-wide. Students can complete the entire level one program and the academic portion of level two through distance learning. Distance Learning is available up to the beginning of internship, at which time, the student may choose a Field Internship program and receive certification as an Ayurvedic Practitioner. Please note that all Distance Learning students must participate in limited on-site classroom education at the College.
It is the preferred format for our international students.
