A Message from the Founder and Director

Welcome to the California College of Ayurveda (CCA), the oldest state-approved college and professional training program for the study of Ayurvedic Medicine in America . We are pleased that you are interested in learning more about CCA and about the Clinical Ayurvedic Specialist profession. Today we enjoy a rare opportunity to participate in the rebirth of this ancient Ayurvedic healing science as it evolves into a primary form of healing for the 21st century. Our graduates are pioneering this effort and are at the forefront, playing a vital role in the development of this profession.

The California College of Ayurveda is dedicated to giving students the finest education in the field of Ayurveda. Our programs are designed to accommodate both students who can dedicate themselves to full-time study and those who live at a distance. CCA’s main focus is training Ayurvedic practitioners. We pride ourselves on maintaining the highest standards in the field of Ayurvedic education. Every facet of CCA’s program is coordinated to make sure that when you graduate you are competent and confident. While our program is vigorous, it is taught with great compassion and love. This is the Vedic way.

The CCA program has been acknowledged and endorsed by India’s most important Ayurvedic University. Gujarat Ayurveda University in Jamnagar, India and the California College of Ayurveda are partners in developing the highest standards of Ayurvedic education worldwide.

We offer our programs at three California locations: our home campus in Grass Valley and at satellite sites in Southern California (Cerritos) and in San Francisco. Students who cannot come to these locations can receive the same high quality education through our revolutionary distance learning program. As a CCA student, you will join people from all walks of life who meet in a unique learning community. Whether you enter our Full-Time Program, Weekend Program or Distance Learning Program, you receive the most complete Ayurvedic education available in the United States.

The education that you will receive at CCA is founded upon the wholeness inherent in Ayurveda itself: an integration of clinical training, philosophy, and principles within a body/mind/spirit matrix.
