This past month was very exciting at CCA. While of course we were involved with a wide array of teaching programs at both our Northern and Southern California locations, the highlight of the month was most certainly the Celebration of Ayurveda. The events began on June 14th with one of the most special puja ceremonies we have ever had at CCA.
The California College of Ayurveda is proud to announce its ayurvedic herbal preparation open to practitioners and patients wishing to order churnas (ayurvedic herbal powder), capsules, medicated oils or ghee, and other preparations.

Often the path to health and wellness seems daunting. If you were to look at a list of how many things you could do to improve our health and well-being, the thought of implementing all of them could make you sick! After all, how many things do you already know that would help you to feel healthier but you are not doing them? If your list is like mine, it’s pretty long and I’ve been implementing change in my life for the past 23 years!
Starting November 2013, a new group of AHP interns will begin offering consultations. The California College of Ayurveda offers consultations in Ayurveda Medicine with interns and graduate practitioners as well as panchakarma therapies including abhyanga, shirodhara and svedana.
As we approach summer, I look forward to seeing all of you at one or all of our upcoming special summer intensive courses. Many of you know that I teach the Ayurvedic Massage and Body Therapies Certification course. This course teaches you everything you need to begin offering Abhyanga, Shirodhara, and Svedana. This combination of therapies is often referred to a “Bliss” Therapy.
May has waived good bye and we welcome June with great enthusiasm. Here in Nevada City, we are enjoying warm weather, beautiful flowers and lots of opportunities to enjoy the local hiking trails. The long days also mean lots of extra time for evening strolls through our historic downtown or beautiful old Victorian neighborhoods. I was recently interviewed on LA TalkLive and the host asked me why I chose to live in Nevada City.
The program offered via the distance learning program is being offered by the California College of Ayurveda in 2013.
An Ayurvedic Yoga Therapist is a specialist capable of utilizing yoga therapies to alter the physiology of the body in a manner that supports the healing process. As such, Ayurvedic Yoga Therapists are uniquely placed to participate as a health care team member as the work they do complements the work of all other therapists.
