Ayurvedic Massage and Body Therapy Certification Course
An Ayurvedic Body Therapist is a specialist working with massage and other therapies that are individualized to the nature of the person and nature of any imbalances that are present. Ayurvedic body therapies are a significant part of the healing process in Ayurvedic medicine and are becoming popular in clinics and health spas around the world. In order to be certified as an Ayurvedic Body Therapist, students must complete the colleges 5 day hands-on intensive plus complete a Foundations Course in ayurveda. Our foundations course is completed through distance learning and takes approximately one month. The course includes reading and answering questions about how the material relates to your own health and well-being. Level-one ayurvedic students are exempt from the Foundations Course.

Foundations Course: Fee: $500
This course can be taken as a stand-alone course for self-knowledge or as a required part of the Ayurvedic Body Therapy (ABT) certification. Students have 30 days to complete the course from the time the course arrives in the mail. Limited extensions may be granted upon request. The course must be completed prior to attending any of our Body Therapy hands-on intensives. The course consists of reading and answering questions. Some questions are based specifically on the reading and some are related to self-exploration and self-healing. When the course is complete, it is mailed to the college for review by one of our faculty. Students receive 50 credit hours of study through the college for completion of this course. As a requirement for Ayurvedic Body Therapy certification, this course is waived for students enrolled in our Level One: Ayurvedic Health Educator program. This class may also be waived for students who have completed other introductory courses upon approval.
Course Curriculum: Introduction to history, philosophy, mythology, five element theory, tridoshic theory, sensory therapies, ayurvedic psychology and the fundamentals of determining a client's constitution.

This program provides 35 hours of hands on training in one and two practitioner Abhyanga (Ayurvedic massage) along with Shirodhara (warm oil treatment over the forehead) and Svedana (Ayurvedic herbal steam therapy). Participants will work in groups of three giving and receiving therapies. This program is also open to Ayurvedic students as part one of their Pancha Karma Specialist certification and to students who have completed or are enrolled in our Foundations Course.
