What is an Ayurvedic Yoga Practitioner?
An Ayurvedic Yoga Practitioner (AYP) is a Yoga Teacher with a solid background in Ayurveda who knows how to conduct dosha specific classes and individual sessions and is able to integrate the fundamental principles of Ayurveda into their teaching. An Ayurvedic Yoga Practitioner is one part Yoga Teacher and one part Ayurvedic Practitioner.
Students in the Ayurvedic Yoga Practitioner program will learn how Ayurveda applies to the eight limbs of yoga with an emphasis on asana and pranayama. Ayurvedic Yoga Therapy can be adapted to any tradition or style of yoga practice. Graduates of the AYP program can use their education to provide dosha specific classes, provide private Ayurvedic Yoga Therapy sessions, and provide introductory Ayurvedic education in studios and on yoga retreats. Some students go on to merge this program with the Ayurvedic Health Counselor program allowing graduates to also provide one-on-one Ayurvedic health consultations.
