Ayurveda and Disturbances of the Doshas

“While everyone has an inherent unique balance of the three doshas, known as their constitution, any dosha can become disturbed. A disturbance in a dosha is generally defined as that dosha increasing beyond its normal proportion relative to the other doshas. However, it is possible for two or even all three doshas to be simultaneously disturbed at the same time. The more a dosha increases, the greater the symptoms that dosha produces, and the more difficult it is to treat. When two or three doshas have moved out of balance, the condition is even more difficult. But, never give up hope because as long as healing is possible, Ayurveda can and will help you to return to balance and, in doing so, maximize your healing potential.” ~ Excerpt from “Healing Your Life, Lessons on the Path of Ayurveda,” by Dr. Marc Halpern, Founder of the California College of Ayurveda.
