Ayurveda and Spices: The Amazing Turmeric

 Are you including turmeric in your daily diet? If not, you certainly should be! Turmeric has a long list of health benefits. It targets all tissues and many bodily systems including the digestive, circulatory, respiratory and female reproductive systems. 

 

Turmeric is a natural antibiotic. It strengthens digestion and improves intestinal flora. It’s great for the blood; it not only purifies the blood, but warms it and stimulates the formation of new blood tissue. Turmeric cleans the subtle energy channels of the body (the nadis and chakras) and helps clear ama (toxins). It is used for the prevention and treatment of cancer. It decreases inflammation, lowers cholesterol, protects the liver, heals wounds, prevents Alzheimer’s, stroke, and Parkinson’s disease. The list could go on and on!

 

So ~ add turmeric to your rice and enjoy it’s golden mustard color. Add it to vegetables, warm milk, oatmeal. Take it in capsule form. Get creative, and incorporate turmeric into your daily lifestyle!
