This perfectly named Bliss Tea is light, relaxing, and calming to vata and pitta in the mind. Most people can enjoy it as a gentle, calming tea throughout the day. Sensitive individuals may feel a bit sleepy after drinking.
If you wish to vary the tea a bit, other herb options include peppermint, spearmint, hops, jasmine, ginkgo biloba, calendula, chrysanthemum, and lemon grass.
The recipe uses whole herbs. If desired, you can easily double, triple, or half the recipe to make a larger (or smaller) batch at a time, and store for future use.
We make this tea during our Making Herbal Medicines workshops, and it is always a big hit. So enjoy, and feel the bliss!
Ingredients:
- 8 tsp Gotu Kola
- 4 tsp Rose Petals
- 2 tsp Fennel seeds
- 1 tsp Lavender
- 1 tsp Skullcap
- 1 tsp Lemon Balm
- 1 tsp Chamomile
Mix all herbs together and store in an airtight jar (glass is best). When ready to serve, place 1 to 2 teaspoons in a cup of just boiled water. You can also make a whole teapot full at a time, adjusting the amount of herb based on the size of the teapot, using 1-2 teaspoons per cup of water, more or less to taste. Steep for 20 minutes, strain, and enjoy!
