Overview

The Clinical Ayurvedic Specialist (CAS) program trains students to prevent and clinically manage disease. Building on the Ayurvedic Health Counselor foundation, it pairs coursework in Clinical Ayurvedic Medicine with two supervised internships: one in disease prevention, one in disease management, each about six months long.

Prerequisites: Students must pass the following three courses to complete the requirements for the Clinical Ayurvedic Specialist Program: Principles of Ayurvedic Medicine (PAM), Clinical Ayurvedic Medicine (CAM), Ayurvedic Health Counselor Internship (AHCi). Students must also complete the 757-hour Clinical Ayurvedic Specialist Internship to complete the program.

 

Tuition: $28,770 total, including all prerequisites and required internships. Payment plans and scholarships are available.

 

Credential: Certificate, pending a cumulative final exam.

Clinical Training Built on a Counselling Foundation

CAS prepares students to support patients with mild, moderate, or serious disease alongside preventive care. CAS students will:

  • Learn how Ayurveda manages disease within each body system
  • Expand their herbal knowledge and learn to formulate herbal medicines
  • Build competency in pulse diagnosis
  • Develop disease-management recommendations for patients
  • Support patient compliance through practical, personalized solutions
  • Promote a clinical Ayurvedic practice in their community and online

CAS is based at CCA’s campus in Nevada City, in the Sierra Nevada foothills, and is also offered live online worldwide. Online participants receive the same live, interactive curriculum and faculty access.
