A Whole-Body Approach to Facial Care
During this 4-day, hands-on Ayurvedic Facials Workshop, students learn the complete Ayurvedic approach to facial care: from dosha-based assessment through the application of warm herbal oils, facial Marma point therapy, and traditional skin care techniques. Training takes place in pairs, so every student practices giving and receiving a full Ayurvedic facial under direct faculty guidance.
This workshop is taught on CCA’s Nevada City campus and draws on the same classical Ayurvedic framework taught throughout the college’s certification programs.
- Rooted in classical Ayurvedic dosha theory and Marma point science
- Designed for direct application in spa, wellness, or clinical practice
- Taught hands-on, in pairs, under experienced CCA faculty
Curriculum Includes
- Dosha-based facial assessment
- Application of warm, dosha-specific Ayurvedic oils
- Facial Marma point therapy
- Application of therapeutic heat to the face
- Traditional Ayurvedic facial massage technique
- Formulating and applying natural facial masks
- Complete Ayurvedic skin care therapy sequence
You will leave with the ability to perform a complete, traditional Ayurvedic facial, from assessment through treatment.

Frequently Asked Questions
A conventional facial typically treats skin in isolation, sorting by surface type and relying on tools like mechanical extraction or chemical peels. An Ayurvedic facial works from a different starting point: it treats skin health as an expression of your whole constitution, or dosha, addressing digestion, sleep, and stress alongside the skin itself. Techniques center on warm, dosha-specific herbal oils and Marma point stimulation rather than mechanical extraction or synthetic peels.
No. The workshop welcomes massage therapists, estheticians, wellness professionals, and Ayurvedic students alike. What's required is a foundational understanding of Ayurveda, not prior facial experience — see Prerequisites above.
Applicants should have completed Ayurveda 101 On Demand, the first module of PAM, or the entire PAM program. Applicants active in Dinacharya or enrolled in another Ayurvedic school may also be eligible.
The Ayurvedic Facials Workshop is offered in person at CCA's Nevada City campus. Because the training is entirely hands-on — students practice giving and receiving a full facial — it is not offered as a live-online course.
California College of Ayurveda is state-approved, not accredited. It was the first state-approved Ayurvedic college in the United States, receiving state approval for its programs in 1996.
