Academic Foundation and Practical Mastery
Train to teach Ayurvedic Yoga Therapy through a program that combines the academic depth of Classical Yoga Therapy with ten days of hands-on practicum at the California College of Ayurveda’s Nevada City campus. The Ayurvedic Yoga Therapy training is built as an on-site program at the College’s Nevada City campus for a ten-day practicum, where classroom study becomes applied teaching skill: practicing pranayama, meditation, and asana, and learning to design and lead sessions based on each student’s constitution (prakruti) and imbalances (vikruti).

- Dosha-based practice design (Vata, Pitta, Kapha)
- Therapeutic applications for common conditions
- Meditation and mental health applications
- Structuring one-on-one and small group therapeutic sessions
- Guided practice in asana, pranayama, and meditation
- Designing yoga sessions (Design Yoga classes) based on the energetic principles of Ayurveda

Prerequisites

- Completion of a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training
- Active in Principles of Ayurvedic Medicine course , Foundations of Ayurveda, Dinacharya, or other

Classical Yoga Therapy is a live online, academic and theoretical workshop that can be taken on its own as a standalone course and is a prerequisite for the Ayurvedic Yoga Therapy Training.

This training is on-site only at California College of Ayurveda’s Nevada City, CA, campus.
California College of Ayurveda is state-approved, not accredited. It was the first state-approved Ayurvedic college in the United States, receiving state approval for its programs in 1996 (the College itself was founded in 1995).
