Ayurvedic Yoga Therapy Workshop (178 hours)Ayurvedic Yoga Practitioner Program

Overview: Students will learn the classical approach to Yoga Therapy and how the eight limbs of yoga can be utilized in the healing process. There is an emphasis on asana, pranayama, mudras and bandhas. Ayurvedic Yoga Therapy can be adapted to any tradition or style of yoga practice.


  • Students must have already completed a 200-hour Yoga Alliance approved Yoga Teacher Training course or received recognition by the International Association of Yoga Therapists or Yoga Unify

Classes and Curriculum:

The course is taught in an online and in-person intensive format. The first part consists of four days of online lecture and discussion. The second part is taught in-person, on-campus in a 12-day format with a focus on practice and teaching. This 178-hour course consists of 80 classroom/instructional hours and 98 hours dedicated to completing extensive specialized projects / assignments outside of class.

Yamas and Niyamas in Healing
Asana and Healing
Energetics of asana
The five vayus in asana
The gurvadi gunsas in asana
The five elements in asana
The energetics of various poses
Elemental energies in pranayama
An exploration of styles of Yoga Asana and how they influence the energies of the body
Samyama and Healing

Part II: In-Person Curriculum

Diagnosing body structure and function
Asana practice
Practice class exploring the vayus
Practice class exploring the gurvadi gunas
Practice class exploring the elements
Dosha pacifying classes
Teaching vata, pitta and kapha pacifying classes

Additional Requirements: Students are required to complete related projects and assignments outside of class. A final exam will be administered; a passing grade of 75% is needed to complete the course.
