Ring in the New Year with Homemade Ginger Ale!
Looking for a healthier alternative? Did you know that most commercially made ginger ales contain little if any actual ginger? And yet ginger is fantastically good for boosting digestion, plus a host of other benefits including alleviating cold symptoms. So ~ how about try something new and tasty this year? The below recipe only serves one, so simply multiply by how people you want to share with!
Ingredients (organic if possible!)
- 2 inch piece of ginger (or more if you want it spicier)
- 12 ounces of sparkling or carbonated water
- squeeze of lemon or lime
- 1 tablespoons of coconut nectar, honey or maple syrup
- Fresh mint for garnish, if desired
Juice the ginger. If you don’t have a juicer, you can blend the ginger with the lemon or lime juice and squeeze the juice out of a cheese cloth.
Combine all ingredients and enjoy!
