Fifteen days in Thrissur, Kerala — learning Ayurveda where it is still practiced as a living tradition.
The CCA–Vaidyaratnam Ayurveda Immersion Program takes a small group of students to Thrissur, Kerala, for fifteen days of learning inside one of India’s most respected Ayurvedic institutions.
You’ll learn directly from Vaidyaratnam, an institution rooted in the Ashtavaidya lineage and home to a major Ayurvedic hospital, a college, herbal gardens, a museum, and its own medicine manufacturing facilities. The program pairs classroom study with hands-on exposure to Panchakarma, Marma therapy, herbal medicine preparation, Ayurvedic cooking, and clinical observation — alongside temple visits and cultural experiences that place the medicine in its living context.
Throughout, you’ll build practical insight into Ayurvedic diagnosis, therapies, formulations, and lifestyle principles. It’s designed for CCA alumni and serious Ayurveda enthusiasts looking for a blend of education, healing, professional development, and cultural discovery — and it ends with a Certificate of Participation.
Most of us study Ayurveda from books and clinics. This is the chance to study it in the place where the tradition has never stopped being lived.

Students traveling by air should plan accordingly when booking return flights. Sacramento International Airport is approximately 90 minutes from the CCA campus by car. We recommend allowing sufficient travel time to reach the airport and arrive at least 90 minutes before your scheduled departure. To ensure the integrity of the educational experience and respect for faculty and fellow students, classes must be attended in full. Students should not schedule flights that require leaving class early.
